Management Committees
  • Divisional Board (8 times per year)

  • The Divisional Board in the Division of Arts is responsible for determining the Division's strategic and academic plans, within the context of the corresponding University plans.

Operational Committees

  • Divisional Academic Policy and Planning Committee(Every month)

  • APPC reports to The Division of Arts Divisional Board. APPC is responsible to the Division of Arts in two broad areas – policy and strategy relating to teaching and learning, and courses and curriculum (including issues of quality). APPC includes representatives from all Schools within the Division and acts as an information, communication and facilitation body to Schools and recommendation body to Division Board.

  • Divisional Research Committee (Every two months)

    The Divisional Research Committee is responsible for recommending to the Division Board on the strategic direction of research within the Division.

  • Divisional Marketing Committee (Every month)

    The Divisional Marketing Committee is responsible for promoting, coordinating and monitoring public relations activities in the Division including Open Days, advising the Executive Dean and Heads of School on possible Divisional marketing activities and coordinating publicity activities of individual courses.

Statutory Committees
  • Boards Of Examiners

    The Division of Arts Division Board determined individual School based Boards of Examiners for each of the Schools in the Division.

    Each School committee is responsible for recommending to Academic Council on the award of degrees and diplomas to students who have completed courses offered by that school to review academic progress and take any of the consequential actions specified in Regulation 51, to review the assessment statistics for that semester of units coordinated by staff in that School, to review results reported that semester for units in the School, and to award those prizes offered within the School.

Information Exchange

  •  Divisional Forum (as required)

    The Divisional Forum provides an information exchange and advice session for all members of staff within the Division

School Committees

  •  School Committees

    The School Committees' responsibilities include; to advise the School Head on resource and strategic academic issues, to recommend to the Divisional Board on the structure of the courses and majors in the School and other responsibilities as may be assigned by Regulations, Rules, Academic Council, the Divisional Board or by the Executive Dean.
